At WWDC 2024, Apple introduced the latest generation of the iPhone’s operating system, iOS 18. Finally, the official version was launched on September 16, 2024. As we have seen the new features hands-on, iOS 18 is truly one of the biggest iOS updates so far.

The all-new iOS 18 comes with a customizable home screen, revamped Control Center ability, top-of-the-line Apple Intelligence features, an improved Siri, a new Eye-Tracking accessibility feature, and much more. Wondering whether your iPhone will receive the update? Here are all the supported iPhone models that will run iOS 18.
iOS 18 compatible devices
Apple typically offers five years of iOS updates to its existing iPhone models and drops an older version from the compatibility list every year. Surprisingly, Apple didn’t repeat the same pattern with iOS 18, as all the iPhone models that support iOS 17 will also receive the new version, meaning even the iPhone XS supports iOS 18.
Here’s the complete list of iOS 18 supported iPhones:

When will my iPhone receive the iOS 18 update?
iOS 18 Developer Beta and Public Beta versions are already available for users to get their hands on all the new features. Finally, Apple rolled out the official iOS 18 version on September 16, 2024.
However, Apple did not provide all the teased features in the first update. If you are waiting to explore advanced Apple Intelligence features like improved Siri, you must wait for the iOS 18.4 update in April 2025. Also, the other features, such as smart home updates, will be available in later releases of iOS 18 in mid 2025.
If you have previously installed the iOS 18 Developer Beta to try out the features, you may remove the iOS 18 beta version and upgrade to the stable one. This ensures smooth and enhanced performance.
However, if you want to access Apple Intelligence features before the stable version rollout, head over to Settings → General → Software Updates → Beta Updates → iOS 18 Developer Beta. With the iOS 18.1 beta version, you can access a few AI features, such as the Clean Up tool, call recording, Writing tools, etc.
