1. Unblock the contact

If you have the intended recipient blocked, you may receive the “Message Blocking is active” status. Here’s how to check:

  1. Open the Settings app → Navigate to Phone.
  2. Tap Blocked Contacts.
  3. Check the list for the number you want to unblock âžť Tap Edit at the top right corner.

  5. Tap Done.

You have successfully unblocked the contact and can proceed to send them a text message.

2. Check the phone number

First, eject the SIM tray out of the slot using a small, thin object like a paper clip. Align the SIM card correctly with the SIM tray, then reinsert it into your iPhone.

You can also restart your iPhone if you cannot see the cellular network icon.

5. Fix Date and Time settings

The date and time settings should always be set accurately on your iPhone. If they’re different from your region’s actual date and time, many services may cease to work as intended.

  1. Open Settings → General.
  2. Tap About.

7. Update to latest iOS version

To ensure there is no software issue causing this problem, update your iPhone to the latest stable iOS version.

  1. Open Settings → General.
  2. Tap Software Update
