  • They won’t be notified that you’ve removed them
  • They will no longer see your private stories and charms
  • Your chats with them will remain in your chat list unless you clear them
  • They can still see saved messages in your previous chats
  • If your privacy settings allow it, they might still be able to send you snaps and messages
  • They can still view your public profile

How to remove someone on Snapchat

There are multiple ways to delete friends on Snapchat, depending on where you access their profile. Choose the method that works best for you.

1. Remove a friend from the chat list

  1. Open the Snapchat app and tap the chat icon at the bottom.
  2. Locate the chat of the person you want to unfriend.
  3. Now, tap and hold their name, and a pop-up menu will appear. Select the Manage Friendship option in the pop-up menu.

  4. Finally, tap on Remove Friend, then tap the Remove button on the confirmation prompt that appears.

You won’t find the person in your chat list if you have cleared their chats from the chat list earlier. In that case, you can use the next two methods to unfriend them.

2. Remove a friend from your friends list

  1. Open Snapchat and tap the profile icon in the top-left corner.
  2. Scroll down and tap on My Friends.
  3. Locate the person you want to remove.
  4. Now, tap and hold their name, then select the Manage Friend option in the menu that appears.

  5. Next, tap on Remove Friend, then the Remove button on the confirmation prompt that appears.

3. Remove a friend from their profile

  1. Open Snapchat and tap the search button (magnifying glass icon) in the upper-left corner.
  2. Type the name of the person you want to remove.
  3. Tap the person’s profile icon to open it.

  4. Here, tap the three-dot button in the top-right corner and select the Manage Friendship option.
  5. Select Remove Friend on the subsequent menu and hit Remove on the confirmation prompt that appears.

How to check if someone has unfriended you on Snapchat

If you’re wondering whether someone has unfriended you on Snapchat, here’s how to find out:

  • Look at their snap score: If you can’t see their snap score anymore, they have unfriended you.
  • Check your friends list: You’re no longer connected if their name doesn’t appear in your friends list.
